Peter Bowater

It is with great sadness that I have to share the news
of the death of my husband,
Peter.

He died on 1st December 2018 in hospital
at Bron in Lyon. He was 74.

His death was totally unexpected and brutal but we believe
and hope that he was not in pain and did not suffer.

Peter is greatly missed by me and our daughter Justine.

This will probably be the last posting on this Blog.

  2. Dear Georgina - I'm so sorry to hear of this sudden, sad news. Today, for some reason I thought to look you up online. You might remember that for a while, I assisted at your Studio in Edinburgh. Probably around 35 years ago. Peter and yourself were a great team and had a high reputation - and were fearless in taking on big projects. Very inspirational. I know it will be hard moving forward - but I do wish you all the best for the future. Kindest regards, Paul Tomkins, Inverness.

  3. Dear Paul,
I did reply to your kind message several weeks ago but I can find no trace of it here. I hope that it arrived. Yes, of course, I remember that you worked with us all those years ago but I must say that turning our backs on the studio and the subsequent move to industrial photography suited us far more. I spent many years hanging out of helicopters in the North Sea or dragging 100Kg of baggage around the world photographing the unphotographable. Peter has left us with a beautiful garden here which keeps us occupied. Sadly, he will not see it all in its maturity. He was very happy living in this corner of La France profonde.
    Kind regards

    Georgina
